Olga Chernysheva’s solo exhibition From the Leaf is envisioned as a lemniscate—a symbol of infinity and cyclical motion. The title weaves together two meanings: the natural, evoking a plant leaf, and the metaphor of spontaneity, fluency, and decisiveness—as in sight‑reading a score, performing a play without rehearsal, or beginning with a clean slate.

The exhibition is centered on drawings, illustrations, and graphic studies created over the years, and is divided into two halls. The first is the book hall, presenting sketches and illustrations for book publications. Here the space is organised around a central composition, whose primary module becomes the sheet of paper.

The second hall is vegetative‑botanical: the works offer a non‑anthropocentric perspective on a world of perpetual movement and transformation. This same logic shapes the exhibition design—its layout guided by the narrative arc of the works and a compositional strategy that evokes the intricate, intuitive realm of nature. The light stenography becomes a thread, weaving together the artistic narratives and exhibition solutions into a unified landscape situated between the natural and the imaginary.

The author’s short texts and commentaries form an additional layer of the exhibition. Freely placed throughout the space, they address the attentive viewer and act as subtle cues, expanding the field of interpretation.
